so my white bellied caique Benson just turned 1, so i took him in for his first wellness check and have a dna test... low and behold he is really a she!!

hi there. since you have a number of caiques do you notice a big difference in the boys and girls. or do you feed them any different?
Since both of my Caiques are girls, I don't know anything about the boys. :hehe: However, from what I have seen from other owners, the difference is really between each individual bird not necessarily between them being male or female. As far as feeding them differently or adding calcium, etc., my vet has said "not to add" supplements just a well rounded diet. If we notice problems with egg laying, etc., as they get older then we will address the issue. My girls are 8 & 9 months old right now so hopefully we have a while to wait for that. :)
