Juno, our new foster is here.

Interesting story. He flew into someone's backyard (clipped wings and all). The people were very well off and had a beautiful home. They knew nothing about parrots. They tried to find the owners, but no luck.

They vetted him and fed him well and kept him in a tiel sized cage (didn't know better) for 4 months. They gave him up to Phoenix Landing about 2 months ago.

He went through another set of bloodwork, etc. I bypassed quarantine due to the history of him having already been in isolation and having such recent bloodwork. Normally that would not occur.

He looks to be a SI Eclectus. He is very cute and covered in pins as he has been molting.

Juno is funny. He is a little monkey. He climbs everything. He makes funny noises too. He'll look right at you and push his beak up against something (like your hand or sleeve) and make a huff noise and then growl. Totally different body language than my other two.

He is of course, nervous. But is funny so far.

Well, I know a little more about Juno. He is almost 6. He is a half small Aru and half Red-sided.

His personality is so different than my other guys. He loves to climb and investigate everything. He will beak at you if you try to remove him from somewhere he wants to be.

So far he does not seem to want to be around us humans. He is not real interested in the other ekkies either. He just wants to climb stuff and tear stuff up.

He does not talk at all. Odd for a male of his age, but that is OK. Maybe someday he will.

He is tiny compared to my Vos.

I will weigh him tonight, but last time he was weighed he was 380. Eko and Mojo are 466.

His feet are little.

Debbie, I think we saw him at the Phoenix Landing class in Cary on the 5th. I thought he was a SI too because he was so small. Howard weighs 440 and is much longer and heftier than the ekkie they had at the class.
