Here is what Teresa had to say about her special baby Corkey.

Here is what Teresa had to say about her special baby Corkey.
Corkey and I want to thank you for this honor.
1. How did you acquire your bird?
I found him on Petfinder classifieds. The owners wanted more than I was prepared to spend. I emailed them anyway, told them what I was prepared to spend (half of asking price) and told them all about the home we would offer.
They emailed me back and said they could not take my offer. I told them I understood, and wished them good luck in finding him the right home.
About 3 weeks later they emailed me back and said I could have him at my original offer. Apparently, they had a lot of undesirable (they said idiot) people emailing about him. I sent my husband to the bank, and we picked him up that night. While there they kept making comments about how he doesn't do much, and how he just stands there when friends visit. They didn't come straight out and say it, but everything they said implied that they considered him "boring"

He was the first African Grey I ever saw in person

2. What is your birds name, age and sex?
Corkey is assumed to be 14 and male.
3. Does your bird do any special tricks?
He does wings up, shake like a dog, and high five, but his biggest trick is how he just sucks people in and makes them fall in love with him
4. What are some of your birds favorite foods?
Sweet potatoes, acorn squash, and his mom's birdie bread mush. If he had it his way it would be tons of seeds
5. What is the funniest thing your bird has done?
There are tons. Corkey is a laugh a minute, but I'll pick one.
When we got him Corkey's arch nemesis was my son. My son tried so hard to make friends with him, and Corkey would pretend to want to step up, but once on Mark he would bite the crud out of him.
One day Mark tried yet again. Corkey stepped up, got a good grip and proceeded to bite HARD. Mark tried to do the earthquake to unlatch Cork from his bleeding finger, Corkey ended up falling to the floor.
He shook himself off, looked up at Mark and said, "What?"
The tone in his voice just cracked us up.
6. How has your bird enriched your life?
He has given me tons of love and everyday laughter.
7. What would you tell people who are considering this species?
They are not for everyone but, when you click with a grey, you are hooked for life.
8. What is the activity and noise level of your bird?
He is constantly moving, playing, or doing something. Since I find all his vocalizations funny or pleasant, it's hard for me to say what the noise level really is
9. What are some of your birds quirks?
He is obsessed with garbage bags, brooms, doing the jiggy and keys. He runs back and forth when he sees any of those trying to get them...LOL
He might have been a janitor in his previous life
10. If your bird talks, what is the most surprising word or sentence it has said?
Every once in a while, if I am very busy doing something, like washing dishes, sweeping, mopping, he will look at me and say in the most disgusted voice "You don't do s*it!!!"
He used to say this all the time, along with the smoke detector going off
11. What is your bird’s favorite treat?
Peanuts are STRONG first, banana chips come in second!!!
