Is this wood safe?

Hi!

I hope I’m posting this in the right section. The wind blew down this beautiful branch on my property and I thought it would make for a great bird stand if I sand it down and attach it to a base. I’m not sure what type of tree it is, please see pictures. My plant identifying app says incense cedar. I find mixed reviews on cedar being safe for birds or not. What do you guys think?

Cedar is not safe, sadly. The oils in it can cause respiratory issues. Even baking a cedar board (like you might for salmon, etc) is not advised.

The photos (especially photo #2) definitely look like cedar.
