Is my bird molting or plucking?

Hi everyone! I’m a first time cockatiel owner and just want to make sure my bird is alright! I’m noticing a lot of these little feathers have been popping up everywhere for a few weeks and saw a few of his long feathers fall off too. They typically fall off when he flies (more like fluttering to the floor since the breeder we bought him from clipped his wings) or from preening himself. He just turned 5 months yesterday… does this mean he’s molting or plucking his feathers?
I’ve read online that cockatiels typically molt between 6-12 months so I’m on the fence if it’s molting… I don’t see any noticeable stress from my bird (but I could be wrong and accidentally miss something my bird has been trying to tell me). I appreciate any insight you may have!
Thank you:smileflower:
