I have RATS!

I picked these gorgeous boys up at the weekend. They were being rehomed due to the owners housing problems :-( I've been wanting a pair of male rats for years and just havent got around to it, but these guys were looking for a new home and were only 15 mins from me, came with all their equipment and cage so it was a lovely for me to get some nice ratties, and for them to have a home!

The owner said that of the four she had (two were rehomed before I saw these advertised) these two were the least friendly, but other than being a but jumpy when I first pick them up they're fine. They dont bite or anything and i think just regular handling will sort them out They had to have a very thorough bath as they were both filthy and stank, and the cage was beyond filthy! YUK!! But, they are doing great now and are the sweetest boys!

You have a good heart taking them in Jess.Here's a story i have about alittle rat.When i lived up north there was a little girl next door..she had a pet rat and that rat was with her everywhere she was in side the house.He sat on her shoulder or lap while she watched tv and even tried sneaking popcorn or icecream .they were the cutest little duel.Ashur and Varro are very lucky rats.

They are beautiful. When my son was little, he talked me into a rat. And I just fell head over heels in love. Andrew would ride in Tyler's shirt pocket all day holding on with his little hands and the cute little face peeking out with those mickey mouse ears. He ended up being one of the favorites we ever had. He passed of old age and we still miss him.

I do have rat phobia, and I thought this thread was going to be one of the " eek! rats in my home!" persuasion.

I heard they make great pets, and are extremely intelligent.

Rats do make excellent pets. They are very interactive. Mine like to ride on my shoulder, and are very friendly!
