I finally got my baby blue front

add phptWell after 8 hours of driving, 4 up and 4 back we now a little girl, Claire who was 1 month old the day before we got her. She is much bigger with almost all her pin feathers in. I am in love. She eats her baby food great and is already trying bananas and apples. I have some pictures that I will post of her first day at home. She loves to cuddle and makes little squeaky noises to talk to me. The hand feeding has gone great and from what I have read should only go on for another 2 weeks, it is really up to her. The breeder, great woman said from her experience it's a girl, so I will go with that. Hope the pictures come out and I will be sending more as they grow so fast.​

No one was assuming. But a young bird like herself cannot wean properly in just 2 weeks. So we all got scared when you mentioned it. I am glad you will not force wean her. Your a great mommy

Here is an article that talks about the importance of letting a baby parrot learn to fly. It talks about african greys, but it applies to all baby birds. I am not saying you do not know what you are doing, but many people just clip their feathers when they start to learn to fly.. it is a good link and talks about the importance of your baby bird learning to fly like a pro, before clipping. If you decide to choose to clip.
