Here's another thought... if amphotericin B is so expensive, what about asking your a-vet for a cheaper source of meds? Sometimes human pharmacies can fill orders for pets for a much cheaper price!


I've also ordered medications through RoadRunner Pharmacy out of Arizona. They *DO* require an RX from the a-vet, but they do fast shipping! I was able to order larger quantities of medications for cheaper through RoadRunner than through my A-vet.... not only that, but shelf life of the medications was longer!

While I didn't get amphotericin B, my potassium benzoate wasn't over $30 and you just put it in their water everyday for 30 days. Although you have to measure 9 ounces for that tiny 1/8th teaspoon. But so easy and no medicating drama.
