I've let my new lovebird (his name is Mango) acclimate to his surroundings for 4 days now. I don't know how to go about taming.
Most videos I've seen say to feed treats to your lovebird until they are able to eat from your hand, and then you can take them out. My lovebird doesn't want to eat any treats, even long sticks of millet.
Mango is nervous around me, although he will go up to the front of the cage and eat and will play with his toys when I am near/ in front of his cage.
How should I begin to tame him?
p.s. He will run away if I put my hand near him, although if I leave it there, he will slowly become less nervous about it, and then will ignore it. Is this good?
