My bird's second favorite food is parsley but I've heard that I should only feed it in limited amounts because it absorbs nutrients and it contains very little toxin in it so how many shoots/leaves should they eat per day/week?

I haven’t heard that it absorbs nutrients and I don’t really understand the toxin part of the comment so I’ll have to do some more digging on the nutritional benefits/issues for our birds- my birds don’t get it very often, my understanding is that it is quite high in iron.
@Mizzely might know more about it off the top of her head.

I don't know that there is a hard rule, however I use it infrequently. It is higher in oxalic acid than other dark leafy greens (almost double that of spinach) which can cause health issues.

If they like parsley, cilantro and other leafy herbs like that may be a good option as well!
