Hello new to group

Thanks for the invite over. I am a new mom to a beatiful 7 year old STUBORN lol conure. Shes a white eyed conure. Her name is Phoebe and before I got her she had been left in a dark room with just seed and water for over a year. Needless to say shes under construction.. On a good note we have had her a 3 weeks and shes already loves being on my shoulder as long as I take the top of her cage off and let her climb to the top. She HATES vegs and LOVESSSSSSS apples.. we are working on improving her diet from what she was used to.. Her beak was so overgrown she couldnt close her beak.. we took her to the vet and he dremmeled it down but said she may never fully be able to close it. I loveeee spoiling her and had ordered her some bird bread mix from another forum but lets just say I never got it...
I am a owner of a grooming shop and also have 5 dogs that allow me to live in the house lol.. 2 Labs, 1 standard poodle, 1 shih Tzu and a Cavilier King Charles. Look forward to getting to know folks.. and learning more about Phoebe..

LOTS of conure owners including myself...
TRUST/TIME are most important...so sorry to hear about her beak issues...
Does she chew wood????That would be great for her working her beak also...starting off with soft wood and working up to a pine...and LOTS of sheadable toys to play with...
Just remember....YOU will need to teach her how to do this...play with them in front of her or on a table with her watching you and YOU making a big deal of taring them up!
Food is the same way...having her watch you eat all the good stuff and playing with it to get her interested is one of the ways to teach her....
