Hi everyone…
Today I met a fairly timid, but very calm and handleable little Turquoise Green Cheek Conure and I brought him.
I’ve named him Gizmo
Thanks so much to everyone who has chipped in during my (six months of!) research!
I was completely torn between a Caique that needed rehoming that was ever so sweet and chatty and getting a young conure to raise and train.
The help and insights on this forum have been INVALUABLE!
In the end I opted for a Conure.
As a beginner, he has a smaller beak and I simply felt more confident handling him. It also seems from this forum that conure are more prone to nip and are a bit more predictable and forgiving than Caiques.
Maybe I’ll try one of those next time!!
