Louise, Welcome to the Neighborhood!
So sorry to hear about your Lovie!
Looking forward in getting to know you and your fids...
Also would like to know more about where you live, what foods your feed your birds and how people react to them....

Thank you.. Here is alittle more about me and my birdie family.
Well Denmark is very small, but i live all the way north, and as far a way from copenhagen as you can get. Its a very small little town, where we live in an apartment. We dont have any avian vets in Denmark, but we do have a few with an interest in birds.
Julio came to Denmark around January to live with me, and he started missing his lovebird that he has in Holland. So to help his love to his bird, i went to a petstore and got two young birds. After a day with Twisted he got his name, he is really one of a kind! Pinja just looks like a Pinja. We fell in love with the little buggers, and in august we desided that it was time to get the breederpair we have talked about ever since we moved together. We found a breeder in Denmark, he is really into lovebirds and he had the right pair for us. Chico and Pearl stole our hearts right away, really beautifull and loving birds.
I Really feel that each my birds have their own strong personality. Twisted is really really twisted, you never know what he is up to. He is either making the same pip for hours, or he gets himself in trouble. Pinja wants to be in control, she is a bully but still sweet with Twisted. Chico is such a loving bird, he wants to snuggle and be all goodie with them all. Pearl was amazing, she was the biggest bird, and not once did she bite. Neither of our birds are tame yet, but we are slowly working on it.
Food for our birds can only be the best! Im always looking around for the best foods, but in Denmark its hard to find anything but a normal seed mix. Thankfully we got a bird store like an hour drive away who sells Zupreem pellets, we can only get the fruit blend, and its the only thing there is in Denmark of any thing that looks like pellets. In august we ordered Nutriberries and Avi-cakes from a shop in the UK, but that was not without problems. First they had to order it from the US, then there were other issues. But it came alittle over a week ago, and everyone but Chico loves it! Other than that im trying to mix in veggies, fruit, rice and other stuff thats good for them, but its not always they even want to look at what i mix up for them. A while back i made them a birdie bread, but that was me being crazy. Twisted took a bite of it, but the other 3 wouldnt go near it. Yesterday i made small fruit/green bags for the freezer, with pomegranate, corn, carrot and other good stuff. Today im trying my luck on yet another birdie bread. Im not quite sure whats gonna be put in there, but already bought a few things. Wish i could find CrazyCorn in Denmark, would LOVE to try that out, but looked everywhere and no one knows about it.
People around us is actualy either afraid of the birds, or they dont like them. My family dont understand why we have the birds out of the cages all the time. So everytime my birds do something cute and i cant stop talking about it, they say im crazy and i go to a bird forum to share everything
Julio and I really want to make a difference when it comes to lovebirds in Denmark, we want to show everyone just how loving birds are. We want a breeding pair again, and handfeed babies for ourselves, aswell as other bird lovers here. But we want to make sure that each bird goes to the right home with someone who really can take care of them. Everytime i see a baby bird, i get so excited and want one aswell
