Or any sort of beetle, really. You know how they tend to just fly frantically around, mostly along your ceiling, and bonking into things, with no indication that navigation is part of the plan? Well that is how Rudy flies 
When he does fly, he seems to be getting stronger and is a bit less frightened each time. But he still just skitters along the ceiling until he reaches the opposite wall or corner, then he flutters to the floor exhausted.
He's also not very fond of my hands, so I have started using a rope perch to get him to step up like I use with Opie. That works much better with him! He will step right up and I can take him out of and put him back in his cage!! Funny little guy
