Oh my gosh Angela...I am so sorry and for you to have to find him like that..I just dont know what to say except you are in my thoughts and prayers.
I had not thought of this. I wonder if a diet deficiency over time could lead to seizures? When I got Harley he was already eight years old, and for his entire life had ate nothing but a seed mix, but after bringing him home I noticed while trying to convert him to pellets he wouldn't touch anything but sunflower seeds in the mix he was sent home with. Could it be possible that over time he suffered a diet deficiency that lead to seizures?O
I'm sorry for bringing this up because I know you are in such pain, but perhaps he had a seizure and bit his tongue? It's a possibility.
I am sure that is possible. I think lack of EFA's (essential fatty acids) in diets can be a contributing factor to seizures. Anglea were you going to have a necropsy done?I had not thought of this. Do you know if they would be able to tell me if it was a seizure or not? The reason I ask is because I know that the immediate cause of death was blood loss so unless they could pinpoint if it was due to a seizure it would not be worth it, I don't think.
