Today, when I went downstairs to feed my guinea pig, he was laying in his hidey, as usual. However, it took quite a bit of coaxing to get him out and I noticed he hadn't eaten much hay. His poop is normal, I checked his eyes, paws, and ears, and got him to eat some veggies.
He's been sleeping more as he aged (he's a senior pig), but he normally comes right out when food is offered.
The only other differences are he is much more relaxed during snuggle time (normally he wants to jump out and explore) and he's been itching his nose a bit more than usual.
I can't get an appointment with his vet for a while because they are busy and short on staff.
Is this an emergency? Does it sound like he's sick or just aging?
The reason I'm posting here is because most guinea pig forums are UK-based and require users to be older than I am.
