I'm still in shock. This happened while I was 3 hours away at school. I was supposed to go home today, but knew immediately that something was wrong when both my mother and father showed up at my school. My mother said that Target got startled by the phone and crashed into the patio door. She was gone instantly. I can't stop crying... Why does this hurt so much? This can't be real, you hear about these things happening to other people but you never imagine it'll happen to you.

I lost my Zane just two weeks ago today. It felt like part of my heart was ripped out. It's amazing of how animals make their way into our hearts. The only advice I can give is cherish memories of good times and share them with people when you are ready. AA great place for that. Also cry as much as you want. As @Eloy told me she never regretted one single tear for her precious Eloy was worth every single one of them. So is your Target.

What a terrible loss.
It's horrible enough to loose them when we've had a chance to mentally prepare or try to come to terms with their age and health... to loose them so suddenly... I'm so sorry. I don't know your pain and I hope I never do, I've always been given that chance to know what is coming, but I'm crying for you now. It's so unfair. I wish I could say something that could make it hurt any less, but I know I can't.
