Yesterday was Israels 62nd Independance Day, I spent a good part of it on painting in the Aviary, which got to be kind of dirty from Pomegranate and beet juices etc.... These are before and after pictures of the wall, I still have to redo the flowers and butterflies , and here are the pictures from this morning, Judy , Krames, Gayla and Matt, Bianca sends a special hello to you!:hug8:

Everytime I see this, it blows my mind! LOL
Must be so much fun. Are they tame-ish or do they fear you because your not in there with the flock all the time?

Kim, first of all I apologise for assuming you had a male, I really needed a side picture to make an accurate guess. She is beautiful! You will enjoy her I am sure. One of my sisters lives in Calgary.

They are not tame to the point where if I call they come, but we go into the aviary cage, and they always check first to see what we are carrying with us, fruits, vegetables, cereal or nuts. Kacholi and Charlie will pick a morsel if I hold it out to them. I can sit in there for even an hour and they don't mind. When they wish to be alone they let me know, by picking up nuts and dropping them on my head!

One thing I have learned about them is that they dislike direct eye contact for more than a second or two. They feel threatened if stared at. This morning I figured out why they were up at five thirty in the morning. I feed them every morning just before six. Well today I caught the culprit! No not a cat, sitting wondering which is going to be their next meal, nor a small flock of mynahs, nor the yellow vented bulbuls but one of the wild female IRNs has returned.

I guess I will have to cover my fruit tress so that something will be left for us to eat. If one wild one has shown up the rest of the flock will return.
here are the links to a couple of their visits

YouTube - DSCN4758.AVI A group of three came for a visit

YouTube - DSCN1600.avi The last of the wild ringneck film

YouTube - DSCN1606 Here is more of our visitors

if you scroll down there are films of IRNs, mynahs, hoopoes, and of course my birds from egg to today.
Enjoy!
