I know that they're not chickens but same family sort of
I have 2 males who strut their stuff, and show off there beautiful feathers. They are easy birds to keep and aren't as demanding as parrots. I shall try and post some images of them in the aviary. They enjoy the grass longer and hide amongst it to have sleeps during the daytime or when it get hot. They have sand and DE dust bathing facilities. They eat a lot of the grass and weeds it is a substantial portion of the diet. Golden Pheasants aren't noisy or aggressive unlike some species of pheasants and don't make huge holes in the ground. There home is 10 metres long, 4 metres wide and 2.1 metres high. I have a garden chair in there and often throw then special food treats. Anyway that's my outdoor birds. They are beautiful! The first time I ever saw one was when a friend of mine found one is his yard! He had escaped from his pen apparently. My friend was able to return him to his owner.

I thought that was a pheasant in your avatar. Also known as Chinese pheasants?

The males which mine are range in length between 31 - 41 inches which the tail is two thirds of overall length.
Females are smaller 24 - 31 inches in length.

I really like Lady Amhersts, too. And culturing guineas.
