I live in Ohio.I told my husband the other night that we just HAVE to move somewhere warmer so I can have more Macaws! We are set to inherit 80 acres, which I could make a nice aviary on lol, but its still in Kansas

Let's hear it for any first time bird owners that went the macaw route. Any other crazy people out there or am I all alone?
I love talking to long-time bird owners.WOOHOO crazy 1st bird owner that went with the macaw here
I know what you mean when I first decided to get Lucy everyone was saying it is a horrible idea. A macaw shouldn't be your first bird. And I just kind of ignored them and am I glad I did I don't know what I would do with out Lucy she is my feathered baby! Looking back on it and after learning everything know now I wouldn't recommend a large macaw to many people as their first bird. They are quite the challenge but worth every ounce of it!I love talking to long-time bird owners.
I say, I just got a new bird.
Oh really, what kind?
A Hahns Macaw. ...
:: pause:: ....really? ...& this is your first parrot?
LOL. Yep. I'm brave, I guess. & I lucked out- Tiki's perfect.
Don't be sorry! That's like someone asking you to rank your children. There are several species I'd like to own. I don't think I'd double-up, except with maybe aviary birds because there are so many personalities in the different species that I'm interested in.I went down the Grey route as a lot of you already know! A very good route to go I might add.
Then a Timneh found he needed me to.
Then I became rash and rushed to the help of a hybrid Macaw and a blue fronted Amazon.
To say it was not tough in the beginning would be putting it mildly, but now things are on the up!
I would not have missed this journey for the world and Chaz is now the apple of my eye as is Jay, Leroy, scooby and Rambo!
so sorry, love them all!
