Front Facing Behavior
My company, one of the Big Corp$, removed my scheduled work from home days two months ago. I have been home less with my birds. So, they been in the living room by the window most of the time now (no worries, they not cooking in the Sun). I try to spend time with them in the living room, but at night I need to be on the computer doing stuff to improve my lives (writing a story, looking for better jobs, battling the Foot Clan) within the couple of hours I have left of the day (because, my work/life balance is gone and is just work/work five days a week). So, I am always hoping my birds are entertained from outside.
So now, I have noticed something interesting to me. The cage is to the back of the window, as the front of the cage is facing inside. Maybe some familiars of my posts seen some pictures of that before. Outside there is a view of a fenced area for dogs, so people are outside with their four legged beasts couple hundred feet away. You can hear birds (at least the ones left since people keep knocking down their trees). You can hear humans and cars polluting nature. So, yup. With noise and things going on outside, (and the windows are open [screened]), my birds never face outside. Always they facing inside the living room. I think they respond to some chirps they hear outside, but they never look out the window (from their cage). They do not watch any action going on outside. Just, they always face indoors. Facing forward while perching, eating, and doing their bird things.
I do not know if they just not interested of what is going on outside. Maybe they do not hear other birds and sounds outside. Maybe they not see far enough passed the window. I do not know. Just I found it interesting after some weeks observing them.
Which now made me think, maybe because they know I am home, they look out for me. But if they know I am out, then they look outside all day?
Maybe am thinking too much into what my birds do.
