Has anyone gotten these? (1 x 1 x 3)

Brown Rte Chipboard Boxes

Also does anyone use masking tape to secure foraging toys? I've seen it on well known parrot websites but don't know if it's advisable.
(they cover a food bowl with light paper and tape it down, punch a starter hole....)

Saroj, I am ordering them this week.

I am ordering some of the chipboard and the kraft tuck boxes.

I had to clear it with DH so he didn't freak when he saw 3 cases of 200-500 boxes showing up.

I am going to take some paper punches and punch holes in them while they are flat, then fill them with the party paper and treats.

Masking tape like ALL tape contains zinc, it is what the sticky stuff is made with. I would not be using any sort of tape.

awesome Debbie! I recall we had this discussion in the summer but I never got around to ordering it!
These boxes (both types chipboard and kraft ) are made in china from recycled paper (just called papermart during lunch)
So do we feel comfortable giving these to our birds?

I was giving a lecture about toys once....i used to have a bird toy business. And I called a bunch of chemist that worked in paper places and such, that is how I found out, shorty after my lecture.... Bird talk came out with the paper towel rolls as being bad because of the zinc. Wonder how that happened...hmmm (another story). anyway though my inquires I found that seventh generation is the only company that I know of that does NOT use zinc in the adhesives simply so that if people wished to give them to their pets they could without harm. I talked directly to the chemists. Their materials can be ingested but will not be digestible, they will pass though the birds system and come out with out harm.

My guess is that CFS uses these boxes for their systems with punches in them.

I am getting 041222 (2x2x2 chipboard)

410017 (4x4x2 tuck gift box)

041313 (3x1x3 chipboard)

I am going to use the little ones for foot toys and also punch a hole in the top and bottom and thread a paulie rope or sisal through and hang.
