I took these pics yesterday before work but didn't have a chance to post. :(
Someone had asked a while ago about the toys in Toady's food dish.
I have a small container filled with mixed up toy parts. When I feed I put 2 tablespoons of food and 2 tablespoons of toys just so they have to dig through them. When I go to to dump their food I just pick out the clean unchewed parts and throw the rest away and then reuse the others.

That's a pretty cool idea! I've been doing it a bit backwards, I've been sprinkling pellets over a group of foot toys on the bottom of the cage.

I've done something similar with the dog for years to slow down his eating pace, but never thought to do it with parrots. Neet idea.

I like food dish foraging because it is something fast I can put together in the mornings for my fiddie!

I do the same thing! I also mix some pellets and nuts into the bowl that I put all Ezzies foot toys in for the day.

Hey, thats a great idea!
Kathie offers that Qwacker Jacks food, with the bagels and such already in it. I've been on the fence about ordering that for Archie and Ella, I think I will now!

Awesome idea. I need to try that with my guys. I think they are a bit spoiled with me giving them food in the bowl and not having to work for it. I might need a bigger bowl though :D

I may be the only one but I'd be afraid to mix food and toys in a bowl (although I have put fresh food and a few toys inside Sporty's play box on top of his cage a few times)
I'm afraid they will swallow small pieces of wood while eating. I guess I'm being silly.
