How to deal with a fully flighted bird that lands in uncomfortable places? The new bird is social, but flies around when she/he feels like it. It's not an ideal situation, as it can/has gets it into bad places (if you know what I mean). I don't want her to get hurt.
But it really likes to be out, with people, around the house. It doesn't seem to be agile. But knows it can fly. Any tips on how to keep her safe? Since she can't be in the bird room?

Get a chair on hand to go up to high places to bring him down.
Block off any gaps with cardboard, blankets or boxes.
Remove any sharp objects - ornaments and the likes.
Cover mirrors.
Line the floor in landing areas with yoga mats, sleeping bags, duvets or blankets to soften any falls.

My budgies are just starting to do some "big" flying in the kitchen. I've just used what I had on hand to make the kitchen safe. Covers over the stove, make sure the blinds are down on the windows, cover the garbage cans, drain mats in the sinks, outlets covered, no coffee out etc. It'll take a bit of time, but entirely possible!

Do they ever completely adjust to the entire house and know where to land and where not to?
