Tonight, I lost a friend. Tonight, my little Sweetie has left me. Four years I've had her. Four years of incredible love and beautiful song, lost to time and left only as a memory.

She became ill and went downhill quickly in a matter of days. I believe she had a tumor or something as she was fine till a couple days ago. There was nothing I could do. I'm devastated.

I don't know if I'll get another one. There won't be another like her. Not one that bonded instantly like she did. I walked around the store with her fast asleep in my hand when I first got her. She gave kisses, loved her bell and even spoke saying 'what cha doin' over and over again. Her favorite perch was the ceiling fan and would sing up a storm up there. Loved being on my laptop and trying to eat anything I had. I loved her so dearly and she had so much love to give for such a tiny little bird.

I will immortalize her. Her feathers will be put into resin so I can keep her with me wherever I go, her memory forever preserved.

She passed tonight, April 22, 2023 at 1:30 am. She passed din the comfort of my hands, warm and loved with my voice the last thing she heard as she takes flight into the stars.

She was something else. She was friendly with everyone but particularly loved pestering me when she was out. She loved my laptop. Shed fall asleep on the keyboard and talk to the screen. She'll sit on my shoulder and fiddle with my earrings. Hell, she'd land on my glasses and give be a great view of her butt. She was a hoot. I'll miss her. I already miss her.

It's been over 24 hours. I'm doing ok. Flip, Sweetie's boyfriend, seems to be ok. He was calling out a lot yesterday, lots of squawking it seems. I'm letting him out so he can interact with JoJo and fly around. I don't think I'll be getting another budgie though. If Flip seems to be depressed or lost still after a week or so, maybe I'll get him a companion. But for now, I have other birds in mind that I'd love to have. Maybe sweetie will guide me to the right one to bring home.

I'm still torn I lost her but she sent me something to brighten my life up again. She sent me a cockatiel. I was thinking of getting one or a conure of some kind but she sent me this adorable 9-12 week old baby lutino cockatiel girl(supposedly). She's still on formula but shouldn't be too much longer till she's weaned off it. I brought her home yesterday and I'm in love. She is just a doll.
