Fly free little one...

I took in two sick parakeets that a women purchased from a pet store so she could bring them to rescue so they could get medical treatment.

Both are infected with avian gastric yeast and the little white one named "spot" was put down today as her flock mates at the pet store tore off her lower beak and the vet didn't believe she'd be able to make it even if we managed to treat the megabacteria.

The little green guy who I've named Kiwi is pretty beat up as well with numerous head injuries and sick with avian gastric yeast is being treated and will hopefully make it.

Please say a quick prayer for Spot and the other parakeets at the pet store that we've been unable to treat and ransom out as they are likely sick too.

Yikes, how can a shop get away with this kind of treatment to any living creature????? Those poor birds..
