Hi

Maccardi has only been with me a week and much more time is needed before he feels comfortable.
I threw a blanket on the floor. I wanted to get down on the floor with Maccardi and play with him. I had some foot toys, spoons, a ball some pellets and treats. Well he does not like to be on the floor anywhere in the house. Is there anything I can do to get him used to being on the floor. Slater and Chili both do not like being on the floor either.

Thanks

I don't think it is natural for a macaw to be comfortable on the floor. They're tree dwellers. Ground feeding birds (those with shorter tails, like greys and cockatoos), would be more apt to want to be on the floor I'd think.

Jude LOVES playing on the floor, but the green birdies hate it.

:) Macaws are canopy dwellers. They feel most at ease up high! Like on an Atom, Flyer, Bottle brush Gym.
