My Phantasmal poison dart frog is due to lay anytime from late August to early March (if my maths is right)!

I couldn't be happier! If anyone us interested there is some information on the species...

They are arguably one of the most dangerous animal on the planet, requiring among least amount of poison to kill or at least hospitalise an adult human.

Hopefully they lay soon! I have all the stuff ready and waiting for egg and tadpole care. Wish me luck!

I have....
Exo terra plastic tank thingy (the biggest one)
50 plastic cups with lids
Java mods
Almond leaf
Early stage and late stage tadpole food

The plan...
About 2 to 3mm of water fir the lifeless tadpoles in the large exo terra thingy

When they start to move, each one gets it's own plastic cup (they like to resort to cannibalism!) with a pinch of java moss, some almond leaf and 2 inches if water.

When they develop legs and tail begins to disappear and another .5 of an inch

When they are fully formed and ready to go onto land, they will go back into the exo terra thingy as a temporary tank.

When ready I will sell them. The money will then be used to get another, more expensive, dart frog species to breed if this goes well!

I know this is an old thread (over a year, wow!!!) however I thought I'd share some news...

This Saturday, after 4 years of waiting and bringing in a new male, we have 13 eggs, all of which are looking fertile. On the 19th they are due as tadpoles and hopefully we'll have fully formed frogs by 20th April! I'm overjoyed!

Well the lucky little beasts will be calling our spare metre-long tank home until I find them a permanent home with other people.
