This morning. I was in bed and around 6:45 I kept hearing a noise from downstairs. Honking.
Listened for a minute or so more, it didn't stop.
Ran down the stairs and uncovered Dolly. She came right on me but was shaking her head frantically. I grabbed her water bowl and tried to get her to take a drink. She was grinding her beak and shaking her head. I got her calmed down enough to put some water on her beak and a wee bit in her mouth.
She couldn't swallow and the water ran down. I sat her on my lap and massaged her throat.
5 minutes later she was finally calm and had stopped honking and shaking.
I just let her rest on my lap for about 10 more minutes to make sure she had swallowed whatever was stuck.
I put her back in her cage and right away she had quite a few good drinks of water.
I covered her again so she could get some rest, but I couldn't go back upstairs just in case.
It's almost 9 am and I haven't heard a peep out of her since I put her back in.
Poor wee thing.
I will see how she is in a wee while, and if she's not feeling too good I will get her to the vets when they open.
