Do I have to F10 wall-to-wall carpeting?

Sorry. Long. Strange question. Lost a budgie after 10 years as my best friend recently. I am reusing the cage because it was a really good flight cage that is large and in great shape. I will F10 and then rinse and wipe and dry or whatever the procedure they recommend I do with the 1:250 dilution spray.

My question is this. He pooped on the carpet sometimes when he flew around outside of his cage. I cannot afford replacing the floors with vinyl or something nicer at this time so I want to know if I need to disinfect by misting the carpet.

Unfortunately we don’t know what he died of except 10 years old and avian vet suspects quick onset recurrence of AGY and stomach cancer. I treated my best friend to the most peaceful ending because he was also falling off his perch and onto the floor. It was sad but I did the right thing and the vet came to the house.

In a few months I want to bring another friend home because he would not want me sad. Not as sad as I have been. And he would’ve been horrified at how quiet and dark the house is. :-(

TLDR; Will I completely ruin regular carpet if I mist it with F10 lightly?

I have used F10 in a carpet cleaner without any issues. A light mist should not be a concern

My mum used F10SC numerous times a day to totally cover everything inside her car. The carpet, seat belts, dash, doors, seats, windows- literally the whole car would be misted between every student she had and there has been no issue with any surfaces being ruined.
I also used F10SC in a carpet cleaner with no I’ll effects fairly recently after my dog was sick and messed everywhere.

I also just want to echo what orher have said. I've used F10 on tons of stuff, including carpet and clothing, never had a problem with it
