Diamond doves fighting

Hello, I had 1 diamond dove male /1yo/ and recently got him a friend, another 1yo male.

But the new male keeps attacking him and pecking him. Chasing him.

We separated them for 4days, reintroduced them and the new male always ends up attacking him.The old one just is visibly distresed laying on the floor and jumping everytime the new one gets close.

We have the new one for 8 days now, I cant see how they ever be friends as the new one seems to be too dominant. And I dont want to have them separated forever.
Do you think they will become friends eventually?
Should I keep them separated?
Should I go to breeder to take the new male back?
i am really worried about the boy who is such a sweat and peacuful animal and now he lives in fear.

I think you should do what you feel is right.
If you feel the new bird will never accept your current bird, then if it is possible, try a different bird.
Can you meet the birds first? See if one is more laid back like your bird and choose that one?

If it was me, I’d keep them separated, immediately. I speak to the breeder and get a female and return the new male

@miniPidge To clarify, I should have said in my post also that these birds should be kept separately because they are fighting. Seeing another post I realised I never actually wrote it in my reply.
