She'd been pretty lethargic for several days, so I took her to our vet who did an extensive blood work-up. Cambridge's liver, kidneys, etc. are all okay, and her levels are okay on all the regular CBC criteria, but her blood sugar is elevated. My vet is reviewing the current research on avian diabetes and will call me next week. At that point, depending on what she says, I'll have to decide about Cambridge's treatment. I am crossing my fingers that avian medicine has come up with a better treatment approach. Also, I'm looking into holistic ideas as well.
