Safe to use around parrots, I thought they contained heating elements that were dangerous

Why would a heating element be dangerous? Or than if they were to land on it.

You are right that some curling irons contain Teflon and therefore are not safe around parrots. A search on this forum shows other members response that Conair products do not contain Teflon or other PFOEs but please verify.
