crested budgies

Hey guys, I was just wondering if crested budgies struggle to live, or if the crest itself could hinder the way they fly or live in general. Will their quality of life be the same as any other regular budgie?

Crested budgies are generally bred for show in a line breeding situation. These birds dont usually have a long, healthy life.

Crested budgies do have a shorter life, but they still have that life to live. I will never encourage the deliberate breeding of these birds, but unfortunately a heck of a lot of them do end up in breeding programs the produce the next generation.
Yes it can be uncomfortable and a hindrance, but if I was to have one I'd trim those crest feathers down once they're fully grown. They can look like that, but they don't have to live like that.
