Hi everyone.

I asked this on a different forum, but I didn't really get a straight answer.

Has anyone heard of colour feeding for budgies?

I read about colour feeding in a book. Cayenne pepper has something in it that when fed to yellow canaries, it makes their yellow a lot more vivid. Someone used it one time for an ailing canary, and he noticed the colour change. He entered it in a bird show and won a bunch of prizes for it.

So, I know it works for canaries, but does it also work in budgies? Has anyone ever tried it?

Thanks. :)

Color feeding is NOT recommended for Budgies. Also, the ingredient may be toxic for them. Many canary breeders have varied opinions about color food if it is not natural. Good nutrition should keep your budgie bright and well feathered. By the way, what is his color?
That was a very good question you asked. Hope this helped.
