Hi, need some advise. My cockatiel Joey had an accident today were his head got caught against a door frame as he was stood on the door and the door was accidentally shoot. He fell to the ground and was flapping about. We managed to pick him up and rushed him to the vets. He was given some pain relief and we was told to keep an eye in him. He has not eaten properly now since coming home and is not fully alert (maybe due to meds)
Can anyone advise on what we should look out for? And how to help feed him. As you can see in the picture he is leaning to his right side.
TIA
Zeb

With that kind of injury most changes from the norm would be worrysome. Fluffed feathers and staying on cage bottom is not good as is excessive lethargy i would go to vet again.

Hi all, Joey has improved very well over the hours today. He has responded well to eating from us and some broken bits of millets from the bottom of the card box box that we placed his in cage. Spent post of the day in a box at bottom of his cage but this evening managed to climb up to his swing which was a surprise. Let’s hope this continues to progress positively.
will give him another dose of his meds tomorrow morning and see how he is throughout the day.

Joey has just had some meds this morning. A good improvement. Still needs to be hand fed, he is currently not making any sounds. Time is a healer
