Hi. One of Tulsi’s clipped feathers came out. She’s not bleeding or anything. We got her with her wings clipped but we’re not continuing that so they’re going to be left alone to grow out. Is falling out normal? Oh maybe it’s part of what I think is her starting to molt maybe?

It does appear to be the starrt of a moult :) You can see there's no blood in the quill so it wasn't yoinked out prematurely.

Yep, definitely molting. As they molt, tail feathers, wing feathers, etc. fall out. It is completely normal, and soon, you’ll have a fully flighted bird. Do keep in mind that they fall out one by one so they’ll progressively get more wing feathers and just about every month be able to fly farther and farther. :)

Funny- we’re just were talking with friends today how this month she’s flying further, with better aim/direction and landing than even just two months ago. Good to know, thank you!
