Hey everyone!

I am having the worst time finding bird safe water dishes that are not plastic or steel/fake steel (always seems to rust), ceramic, etc.

I just want to find a simple mountable clear glass water dish and I am having the worst time finding anything that can safely be attached to the side of my birds cage.

I am reaching out to all you great minds out there, what are my options? Or how can I find a (shallow) clear glass water dish that they can use safely.

Approx size I have been looking for, is a shallow bowl with a diameter of 4.6 inches.

I had the plan that I could just insert the glass bowl into one of the metal rings(4.5") that attaches to the side of the cage already and usually holds the stainless steel bowls types but I just can't find any bowls that size and I amlooking for new ideas now

Thanks

Those are an older item that has mostly (if not completely) been discontinued as they can shatter and injure your bird. This is not just an opinion, but a fact that is can, and does happen. That said, if you feel differently and believe that it will not be an issue, your best bet is eBay. I have seen a few there, but I would have no way of knowing the quality.

If you're really committed to glass, you could perhaps look into mini pie plates? Not sure if there would be anything that small though. Ramekins would be another thought

I've never had an issue with stainless steel bowls and they're my preference to avoid breakage when my birds routinely drop them. You could check at restaurant supply stores for good quality options.

Speaking of cooking, if you really want glass, I'd check tempered glass ramekins, from a reputable company such as Duralex.

Amazon, if you have access, has a variety of different ceramic bowls for parrots. I did not see any clear glass one.
