Pictures Chico surprised me this morning...

First he had a wash in his water bowl... there is nothing like expensive bottled water to bring out his flaxen highlights!

Later after I slotted in the breakfast bowls, I heard crunch, crunch, crunch. Bit weird since he wasn't near his food bowl. Had a closer look and he was holding and eating a piece of carrot. I don't know how he managed to travel with the carrot.

He doesn't usually hold food in his foot because his feet are wracked with arthritis...

Wondering if the powdered curcumin that I add to a little bit of yogurt every day for breakfast is helping. That along with the freshly ground flaxseed which is full of the anti-inflammatory Omega 3 ...

... and the cherry juice he has at night...

I was a little surprised, and delighted!

Echo likes to make "soup" with his pellets or at least get them a bit wet. I thought when I got his latest cage I'd solve that problem by putting his food and water at opposite sides of his cage. But did that stop him? Nope!! He'll put a couple pellets in the bottom half of his beak usually under his tongue and carry them over the water that way I'm betting thats how Chico does it too.

That's great. I do believe that tart cherry juice can be helpful when it comes to arthritis.

Echo likes to make "soup" with his pellets or at least get them a bit wet. I thought when I got his latest cage I'd solve that problem by putting his food and water at opposite sides of his cage. Lol - I do that too - I put the water bowl as far away from the food bowls as possible to avoid even the lightest of soups.... including a broth. Laughing at how Echo transports his pellets! This was a big piece of carrot!

Tart cherry juice is what he is drinking every night. Yes, it seems to be helpful!

Maybe he has figured out, what all arthritis sufferers should be told, that he should exercise the joint before it becomes locked and immobile.

His foot obviously doesn't bother him enough to avoid using it now so it does sound like everything you're giving him is helping. I do the same thing for myself when I'm having any inflammation issues like a sore tooth or back ache. I usually take ibuprofen because it takes down any inflammation that is happening which cuts down on the pain and helps things heal up. Luckily haven't really had issues like that with Dobby so haven't had to do anything similar but safe for him.
