BG kiwi finally accomplished what she set out to do for the past few months. She chewed through the one corner it hangs from  she fell right to the ground with a bang, she isn't hurt.

We have the biggest one.

Has any other birds here done this?

sounds like she was on a mission and succeeded! Glad she wasn't hurt when she fell.

sounds like a very determined Kiwi, glad she is ok!

will have to remember this when I get one, Boogies beak is not as big of course, but he is a wood/rope chipper with feathers!

I'm so glad she is ok! I don't have a Get a Grip net, but I was a bit worried about Archie and his, because he's a rope chewer as well....:( Hmm.

She's no dummy that's for sure. She has been working on that same spot for eons, maybe even since I hung it. Of course she has to chew a key part of it to hang :(
don't let it stop you from ordering one, they are solid and it took a long time for that massive macaw beak to accomplish this.

What happens to the grip a net now? Is it still usable?

My 2 bare-eyed toos have chewed thru theirs several months ago. Every corner that it connects to the ceiling has been chewed thru. I just used some very large plastic chain and made a large loop with it and hung it back up thru the corners. (wherever you can get it) Here is a pic of what I did.

Hope this helps!!

Holy beans!!! Thank goodness my macaws are A.D.D. about what they play with. If I'm gonna shell out that kind of money (I will be getting the largest one as well) it better be beaker proof!

I'm impressed! They are extremely dense and while I have heard of a few birds that chewed on them, I have never heard of any that chewed through!

My African Grey is a dedicated rope chewer, she will chew right through rope perches, but she has never bothered the Get A Grip.
