I just got done reading a book called Of Parrots and People and am very suspicious as to where he acquired his "new bloodline" and the Tres Maria Amazon. It looks as if his pages have not been updated in awhile.

Did a quick search on this guy and found this on the Pamperedpeeps website:

The importation of Yellow Sided Green Cheeks occurred in the early 1980’s at a quarantine station in CA and ended up with Steve Garvin and Deanna Ferris.

In the book I was reading, the quarantine station in CA is where the smuggled birds went after the smugglers were caught. Then they got put up for auction instead of being released back into the wild where they belonged.

After reading this book, my mind has been forever changed about having parrots as pets. My birds aren't going anywhere, but I will never buy another one unless it is in desperate need ie Bean.

He has some beautiful mutations. ^^ Could never afford his newer mutations, but it's nice to look. Maybe one day they'll become more affordable and I can consider one, but for now I have my two parrots who will continue to keep me busy enough until then.
