Hey hey,

I got Nuka a catit fountain. Now I wonder if the filters are safe to use?

Just had a google and it just says it softens hard water, i personally wouldnt use a filter for water that my birds where drinking from just change the water and clean after use.

The filters usually are just charcoal and cotton aren't they? Usually they are more for keeping crap out of the motor to extend the life.

I wouldn’t worry about the filter at all. It’s to keep crud and dust out of the machine and keep the water cleaner. If anything, the water is less dusty than without it.

My guys have a swan fountain and that has charcoal filters but I’m not worried about them. If anything our city chlorinates our water and I’d rather my birds not drink it directly out of the tap.
