Its a great thing you got him in. Make sure the vet shows you how to give medicine and helps you do it for the first time. Little birds can be a pain in the butt feathers to medicate.
Cat bites to birds is like a venomous snake bite to people. Once they're bitten the "venom" (bacteria) will kill a bird in less than 24 hours. Bird starts out fluffy, then SUPER fluffy. Then falling off perches. Then staying at the bottom of the cage and looking like it will sleep. Then it continues to go down hill. So please make sure he is accepting that medication. The anti biotic is probably more important than the anti inflammatory, but both are important. But if you are able to get in the anti biotics first, that would be great to be sure he is getting that.
I hope he recovers quickly. I am so happy his wings didn't break with the bite. That was a close call!
