I have a few questions about car safety and birds.

1) For restraining her in the car would it be better to use a carrier or harness (windows would be up)?

2) Since it is a bit chilly out and we would have the heat on, in general do the heating components in cars have ptfe/pfoa as part of it?

3) Is there anything else about having her safe in a car that I should know?

Definitely in a carrier that's been restrained.

I think car heaters in newer cars are generally safe? I'll let someone more knowledgeable answer that part

100% carrier. Belt it in or otherwise restrain it. In the event of an accident, a bird in a harness is going to be thrown around. If they survive, they could escape.

Putting a bird in a carrier limits the distance they can be thrown, which makes it safer. Being thrown 6-12 inches is a lot different than being thrown 1-5 feet.

I've always used a heater in the car. It gets below zero here, I don't have an option not to.
