Can't stop crying...Mattie's gone

My sweet, big-eyed baby girl took wing from this world at 4 o'clock this morning. She died in my hands. I've been crying ever since. I feel like I can't breathe. If you have prayers or positive energy, please...please, send them here. I've lost my angel, and I don't know how to make it through the day.

I woke up at 4 because I heard a sound, like she had fallen from her happy hut. I switched on the light and she was on the bottom of the cage in an unnatural position. I picked her up and held her, and she felt cool to the touch. I begged her to be okay, told her I loved her, and then I watched the light go out of her eyes.

I never dreamed I'd be posting to this forum for many years. I can't believe she's gone.

I don't know. I don't think so. She was so chilly when I picked her up. She must have been fading before she fell.

The past couple of days have been so hard and stressful, what with the flood scare and all. She was stressed, as all my fids were, during that. Whatever was wrong, I think the flood had something to do with it.
