Hi all,

My 4 year old Canary has started to lose a significant amount of feathers near her neck and head, especially creeping up the back of her head. She still seems active, and is eating/drinking well. I've checked for mites but haven't seen any, and I try to keep her daylight hours in sync with actual daylight. I am so worried about why she's having this weird molt out of season. So many feathers are falling out and I'm worried. She did have a mini molt during the summer but it wasn't anything like this.

She is eating a combination of seeds/pellets (that I mix by hand) and egg food/dried protein (strawberries etc.)
She also has a little treat stick.

Does anyone know what is going on?

Does she live alone?

Hmm I am not sure then. I would check with a vet if she is actually going bald in those areas.
