I am guessing this is referencing a specific subspecies.Pictured above is a young female Blue-bellied, or Namibian Meyers.
In this photo, she looks somewhat smaller than she actually is.
I agree, pure meyers subspecies in captivity would surprise greatlyUnless their parents or grand-parents were wild-caught in those areas, I personally doubt anyone who says their meyer's are very specific subspecies. They've been interbred so much in captivity that we can't really tell which is which anymore.
Could just be the picture's quality, but does the left wing look green to anyone else?
