I ordered and received some of the colored wooden blocks from Busy Bird.
This is my first time ordering blocks.

They all have an alcohol smell to them that seems to be going away.
Im assuming it is due to the way they color the blocks.

Has anyone else ordered these from them?
Im assuming these are safe and I simply need to wait until the smell is gone?
I have an email into them but no response yet and I cant seem to find a phone number on their website.

California Bird Nerds uses rubbing alcohol when coloring wood. We use this to dilute the coloring. It also kills any bacteria that may be in the wood. The rubbing alcohol evaporates as the wood dries. The only thing I can think of that would cause the wood to still smell like rubbing alcohol is if the wood didnt dry all the way before everything was packaged up. I would still wait to hear from them to verify that this is the process they use in coloring their wood.

I would wait until the smell goes away, but I would think they'd be fine after that. I hope they get back to you soon!
