I have had my bird for almost a year now, but one thing I've noticed is slight tail bobbing. Slight, I suppose. I don't know what qualifies as normal and what is sick. But the thing is it's been going on for a very long time. We had him checked out by the vet and the vet said he is in good health. Should I still worry? The vet is 40 minutes away and the next closest vet is no doubt even further, as the 40-minutes-away vet is the closest.

And he has always shown this behaviour? If this is a long going behaviour, and the vet says it is okay, I think it is fine.

I can't remember when it started. But it has been at least a couple months.

My parakeets have a subtle tail bob. I believe the tail is bobbing is secondary to normal respiration. They are very active, eat and vocalize well. I think if your bird is behaving normally then I might not worry, especially with a normal vet exam.

Sometimes there's a "tail Bob" after pooping. Is this what you see?

No, it's more of a constant kind of thing when he's just sitting and being quiet.
Although that may be because he still finds me scary.
