:lol:you made me think though - I had to think if i'd ever seen one!! I wish there was a budgie of EVERY color!! I'd kill for a truly purple one too (some of them can look purple but not quite...)

That budgie almost looks like it's covered in blood or juice or something.

A pink-toned budgie would be interesting to see, however. :)

I'm confused as to what kind I have. Dominant Pied? He/she is odd looking.

I have True violets - but they're hard to get pictures of they always come out looking some shade of blue

but my Gizmo was a Double factor Violet he was very deep purple and looked it he matched the Crayola Crayon purple

now i have a Yellow face Violet Dominant Pied and her purple is light since she's only single factor but she is purple and in person there is no denying she's purple - just can't get it to show up right on a picture I've tried every setting on my camera

a true purple (violet) is a Cobalt violet ;) which is what a few of my pairs are.

This is gizmo as a baby - took the pic with one of my kids' crappy camera But it is the only picture that's ever came out showing he is purple - But no matter how still you stand or even sitting this camera on a table they come out blurry

then a few from my camera

the last good pic I ever got of him - he would of been 2 this past January 14th

from the picture in your avatar Looks Recessive pied
Are you sure about that? The back of the head looks more like dominant pied. I could be wrong though... I've never been a breeder. :p

This is Sunny. Not sure if sunny is Male or Female.
Looks recessive pied to me

since it's so young it'll be a while before you'd know the sex - but looks male to me

IF the cere would turn blue - its male and not recessive pied but Double Factor Dominant Pied

If the cere stays the pinky color it looks now its male and recessive pied

females in both mutations get the normal white to dark brown crusty ceres

but to me Sunny looks recessive pied.

Alec looks like a Sky Violet and he's Opaline
but if he's darker blue in person then he'd be a Violet Cobalt Opaline

Edward is a Sky Blue Grey wing Opaline
in his 1st picture he looks violet If he's like that in person he's Violet Sky grey wing opaline

Atv-- On Sunny's cere, near the nares, there's a bit of tan crustiness.

to me it looks like a scratch or food stain-plus Sunny is way to young to have a brown cere - he/she is only 8 weeks old. I've had birds get their brown ceres at 2-3 months old but I also have over 20 budgies and their in a aviary setting so some times they mature quicker in a aviary setting but hardly ever does it happen in a single bird home or a home with just a few budgies

Thank you very much for letting me know what Sunny might be. :)
your welcome, You'll be able to tell more as Sunny grows up.

Hey Kelli I have a question for you on TL - I believe once upon a time when I first got him you told me that his mutation was probably a typical ol' green & yellow budgie with the clear flight mutation. Well he recently has grown in a couple of flight feathers WITH color/black but most are "clear" what mutation does this make him? or? Can you help me figure it out?
Sorry about his horrible tail feathers in the 2nd picture - he had a couple of rough landings in the new flight cage, he has a healed, broken leg so he loses balance occasionally.

I know how the tail issue goes - I have one Lance, decided that the cage bars make a great "mate" and pleases him self on them so he's messed up his tail

but he's Green Opaline, I don't see any pied at all , clear flight has all clear flight feathers and tail feathers
